Caterina Sullivan is a young sustainability professional specialising in the United Nations’ Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Caterina has worked on the Global Goals for the past three years in Australia, New York and London, looking to further progress towards the achievement of the goals in Australia and by Australia by 2030. Caterina has worked with federal, state and local government as well as with corporates and SMEs on understanding how these goals apply to different levels of society and the steps which can be taken to realise the achievement of the 17 goals and their 169 targets in line with the 232 measurable indicators. For her work in this field, Caterina has been recognised by the Young Australian of the Year Awards, the Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards, the NSW / ACT Young Achiever of the Year Awards and the Telstra Businesswoman of the Year Awards. In 2017, Caterina was named a Young Social Pioneer by the Foundation of Young Australians. Prior to her work in sustainability, Caterina was awarded a Public Service Achievement Medal for her work in the Australian federal government. Caterina founded Strategic Sustainability Consultants in which she engages with business and government in creating sustainability commitments and strategies. In her work, Caterina does not only look at helping companies and organisations become more sustainable but also to improve their business practices to help their own bottom line. Caterina also works with young people to help them create positive social change by engaging in leadership and mentoring events and seminars through another of her businesses, GNX Leaders. Caterina lives in Australia’s capital city, Canberra, where she promotes the city and all it has to offer. A true Canberran at heart, Caterina finds herself enjoying the beautiful natural environment that the capital has to offer, making her more determined to preserve the beauty around her. Caterina loves cooking healthy meals, regularly training and engaging in a healthy lifestyle. She has a passion for learning languages and can be heard speaking in English, French, Croatian and Italian. In her spare time, she learns a number of other languages including Spanish, Portuguese, German, Twi and Yoruba.
