Hey, I'm Jesse GrunertA code craftsman for many years, father of 3 boys and husband to my beautiful wife.
I manage a team which varies from 7-9 developers as demand fluctuates. My team is primarily responsible for building and maintaining the ecommerce endpoint for telus.com. We work closely with a number of different teams on the Telus side, from UX and design all the way to low level API integrations. I am primarily a backend Drupal (7) developer having experience in everything from building custom hooks and entities to using views, forms, entity wrappers and hooks.I have built a number of Drupal modules for Telus, most of them are completely custom ranging broadly in size and scope. I am fluent in PHP and Javascript and can find my way around C++, Java, Lua and Nodejs without too much trouble. I have dabbled with many other languages and frameworks purely for personal pleasure on my spare time. I enjoy working on Linux servers and know my way around the console well! I have a good deal of load testing experience having built and executed many Jmeter tests. I also helped architect the stack on which the Telus platform runs which processes in excess of $20 million dollars per year. I have no formal education aside from grade 12, that being said, I have been programming on and off since I was 13. For the last 6 years I have been programming professionally. During that 6 years I worked my way up from the role of Junior Developer all the way through to a Senior Team Lead managing a team of Developers. At Acro Media I work remotely enjoying the opportunity to live on a large ranch far from the city while still working a high tech job. I'm always looking for new opportunities where I can hone my skills and become a better Software Developer!
When I'm not building code I enjoy things like chopping wood, motorcycles, gaming and keeping my beard nice and healthy. I also love Tim Hortons much more than I should...
Facebook, where I post all the silly things I find on the web among other things...

Pretty proud of my son, he threaded that worm, cast and reeled the fish in all by himself!

So I found a little millipede today, brought it inside for the boys to see. I'm told as soon as I left the room, my youngest son promptly grabbed it and bit it in half... 😂🤣😀

Finally got my camera and gimbal sorted out, this is the first footage. I dropped the prop noise and added in a beautiful classical piece. I'm pretty happy with the result! Now I just need to quit my day job so I can pursue a career in areal photography!
Buy a electric lawn mower at a garage sale for $10, then power it with batteries from your RC heli... 👌 👌 😂 😂
